Two days back QiQi was playing with her sticker, and suddenly she though of a new way to go about with her stickers. Look at her ART ! Haha...my dear hubby asked me to delete this photo but i insisted to keep it. Isn't this do a wonderful memory for QiQi and her father in future ?

Usually I am very worried with QiQi's behaviour when her father is around the house. She behaves wildly, thinking that she can gets everything since her father protects her all the time. ALL THE TIME...never once he raise his voice to his daughter.

Hopefully one day QiQi will soon reliaze the love we parents have for her, that she shouldn't take advantage of us.

Sunday is a marketing day for the family. As usual, we will head to our favourite stall in Sg.Long pasar pagi for our nasi lemak. We have been eating the same nasi lemak, eversince we moved in to Sg.Long 4 years back.

*sigh*.....how fast time has passed. Even our dear goin-to-be 3-yr-old QiQi loves nai lemak with lots of ikan bilis and some sambal. Hey, QiQi can take spicy food like our local mee curry from Old Town Coffee, no kidding ya...

Well, obstacle does not deter a little gal from getting something she wants (in this case here, her spicy nasi lemak). If only man can re-learn from basic to get what he dreams in life :)

On Monday evening, Papa came back early. Since we had planned to go out that evening, we helped QiQi to pack her bag, with her candie and there she trotted along happily to nanny's home. Upon reaching there, Papa pretended to move his head like "Wow Wow", the big dog in nanny's house. QiQi had a great time at during her arrival there.

2 hours later, still at home, i received a phone call from nanny asking me to come over to take a look at QiQi. She had fell down from her Fisher Price walker, knocking onto her head. Upon waking up from her nap an hour after that, she had a BIG swollen eye and this is how she looked like (see Pict)

But of course, that wasn't my biggest concern as I am more worrying about any internal injury. But luckily, she is perfectly fine after that even though it takes a long time for her swollen eyes to heal...sigh....no one to blame but my naughty little gal

I have recently wanted to bring QiQi to zoo and finally last saturday, we managed to make a trip there, with a few families (Goh, Sharon, and Wai han) with our kids.

As i was looking forward very much to this trip, i got up quite early in the morning to pack. We all supposed to meet up at the zoo entrance at 10am, so by 9am, i had to wake QiQi up. Poor gal, she slept quite late a night before, and was very "mang chang" when she is being drag up from the bed.

However upon reaching there, her eyes immediately lit up. This little gal, loves to play so much but at that morning, she still willing to sit in her stroller. It has been sometime since i see Xin-E (Wai Han's daughter) and wow, how much she has grown. While Brendan (Sharon's son) was a little bit shy, not like the gals..haha...!!

As QiQi is not willing to be on her legs (or she is too pampered by Papa), she was carried in most of the journey. End up, we walk so fast up in front (me can't wait to see what's next), while Wai Han and Sharon were left so far behind, both enjoying having their kids posing in front of the animals...aiyoo....

After walking for a few hours, we and Goh's family decided to get onto the tram. QiQi was very excited each time the tram passby instead of those animals. But less than 5 minutes, we came to the exit. Aiya....wrong station...so we decided to have lunch first (only Walls Ice cream cafe and Marry Brown are available). We had our lunch, chit chat for quite a while as it then rained. After the rain stopped, we decided to leave as it is too tired. But my hubby suggest that we go on the tram from the beginning to make a round trip in the zoo. As soon as QiQi gets up, soon after that she feel asleep. I was very tired myself and can't wait to get back home. Dono where the families were then.

As waiting for the car to come, i went to the souvenir shop to purchase a pack of plastic animals. QiQi slept all the way home, of course, but as soon as she reached home, she was wide awake again and wanted to go out to play with Iris "mei-mei" and Ivan from next door. Aiya...not even managed to change my clothes, got to bring QiQi out to play again.

However it was a very good exciting day for all of us. And I am looking forward to another trip with QiQi again.

Yesterday i was taking mc, and came back home at noon from work. Was thinking to take a nap in the afternoon, therefore went to pick QiQi from nanny's house back to take a nap together. However after getting my MC, and taking a shower, upon reaching nanny's place, QiQi was already fast asleep after singing with "yi-mah"...

So, after chit chatting a while, i decided to go back to take a nap. But unfortunately, got a news from hubby that a close friend, Johan got an accident and car was in total wreck. Luckily he survive in the accident, and nothing happen to him.

In the evening, i decided not to go to HLA office, but quickly go fetch my little gal back. Upon seeing me, she was so excited and go sent everyone a bye-bye hug. Of she goes back with me and I gave QiQi a shower and put her into a short pretty dress.

After playing with mummy and Kun (sister cousin who's staying together), we drove out to do some groceries. The evening was such a sweet one for me for it has been long since i can really spend time with my little QiQi.

Currently her vocabulary has also increased tremendously. She learns to toast "yum seng", saying the uncle "chong"  (pretending in cantonese), and also learns to play by herself for a longer period now.

Sigh...time pass really fast and without realizing, my little gal has grown into a little toddler, and yet she is still as petite as ever.

Nowadays QiQi can speak/imitate lots of words. At nanny's place, she is communicated with mandarin and cantonese. At home with papa, she speaks mandarin and with mama, she speaks mandarin + english. Therefore it is always very confusing for us to try to understand what she has to say to us. These are some of the sample vocab from her at March 2006 (21 months).

When her shirt becomes wet from playing with water, she'll look at me innocently and say, "mama, wet wet".

When she is afraid of something, QiQi will give me a desperate look and say, "keng ya, keng ya..."(afraid in cantonese), asking me to quickly pick her up.

When she wants to go out and play with little Iris next door, she will call her "mei mei" (sister)...

Don't want = "moi", sometimes "pu yau"

others are:

bear bear

papaya

peach

pants

nose

book

bread or "ping pau" (mandarin it is called mien pau)

papa's car / mama's car / kun's car

1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9...(missing some numbers in between)

by now, she could also point to almost all main body parts when i say it is mandarin, cantonese or english, pulling up her shirt for the doctor to monitor her heartbeat. Isnt mama's baby gal clever ? *makes me really proud of her*.

On sat morning, things are all packed, mostly new yr clothes, all of us waiting to go back to Kuantan. During the journey, it was hot and tiring, coz traffic jam was quite bad along the Karak highway.

Upon reaching Kuantan in the noon, 2nd BIL's wife is preparing the reunion dishes in the hot kitchen. We were always greeted by Ah Ma, but not anymore this yr. Things werent the same anymore with the owners of the house no around.

We unload all our things, set up the bed, and hang all QiQi's new clothes in the wardrobe. After taking a rest a while, it was almost dinner time. Because we were so hungry, we didnt really wait till all the dishes arrive (from my 1st BIL), but we start up with what is prepared to that hour. Of course shortly a while, they arrived with their famous char siew and big prawns. Everyone had a great dinner (thanks to everyone who has put on a lot of effort preparing them instead of Ah Ma). But of course, nothing can beat the exotic taste of kiam chai duck soup which used to prepared by Ah ma. Of course, i must say that 2nd SIL really did a very good job this time to ensure it taste almost similar.

The next morning, everyone gathered again at the house. Because we are not allowed to celebrate the new yr, not all of us are really wearing new clothes so the new yr mood is not really there. however i did put QiQi into her new gold cheongsam. Doesnt she looks sweet ?

Last Sunday morning, we had a great day at home. That afternoon, suddenly the urge to wrap the mini meat floss popiah just came into me. Sitted QiQi into the car, we zoom out to the sundry shop to get the meat floss and popiah skin. After a frantic search in the hot afternoon, we finally got what we want.

When we spread the ingredients on the table, QiQi wants her share too. Give her a bowl of meat floss with a few pieces of popiah skin, we began to shed the slices and do the wrappings. haha....what a mess the dining area turns into as QiQi began to eat her meat floss and then bits fall everywhere onto the floor.

After a few hours messing around, she began to feel tired and i quickly put those things away and clear up the whole place. Not bad hah...i managed to wrap up to a box of a 2L ice cream box size and this is how it looks like (waiting to be fried)

I still remember what happened on 18th December, Friday. That morning my hubby lost a person he loves, his mother, whom we called "Ah Mak".

The memory of my late MIL is still clearly in my mind. She was a very good cook, and everyone in the house always love the food she cooked. 4 daughter and 4 DIL altogether, and there is no one who inherite her dishes. Everytime we go back to visit them, Ah Pak, my FIL will make sure that she cook our favourite food, until the whole table is layed fully with nice mouth watering dishes.

Dealing with lung cancer, she was very sick and weak. She has to lay down on a lazy chair while groaning in pain and constantly calling for Yati, the maid to massage her body and limbs. QiQi was 17 months, and she too help to massage Ah Mah. This is the last picture of QiQi urut for Ah Ma exacly 7 days before her demise. It is a pity I didn't manage to catch the picture of QiQi spending the last moment together with her Ah Mah.

Recently QiQi has been jumping and bouncing herself a lot at home. All the sudden she is here, and suddenly she is there, everywhere !!! Qiqi nowadays even dare to jump from high place, flung herself just like that into the air.......*phiew*....and Mama and Papa always experience many frights with "little loose spring" at home. And this is how she looks like before jumping down from a stool...

During the holidays, we went back to Kuantan to see Ah Ma (MIL). It is a very tiring drive as QiQi couldnt sit still.

The stay this time was fun as now QiQi can play with her cousins, running around, playing hide-n-seek, and kicking balls in the garden. Best of all, she can sit thru a dinner when we go makan besar outside, hehe....

Although holiday, it was a real tiring but fun weekend with a little monkey around.

QiQi is very creative in making her own sign language. Mummy doesn't teaches her as i myself dont know of any.

  • Wanna watch Mothergoose CD - she does the "Round and Round The Garden" sign (pointer circling her palm) while nodding her head looking at me.
  • Want me to play the musical box in the room - Dance while "nod nod" her head.
  • When she sees there is an insect, - do the "Tim Chong Chong" game's action
  • Wanna drink plain water, she will do "Ahhh" (the satisfaction from drinking).
